Who we are
RAFT to Freedom (raft2freedom.org) is a free, non-commercial online workbook created by Vince Cullen and Dr Cathryn Jacob. We are the data controller for any personal information collected through this website. You can contact us about anything in this statement at contact@raft2freedom.
What we collect and why
We keep data collection to a minimum. The website collects personal information in only two situations:
When you use the contact form. We receive your name, email address and whatever you write in your message. We use this only to reply to you. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
When you sign up to our email list. We collect your email address so we can send you occasional updates about the workbook and related material. We only add you to the list when you ask us to, and every email includes an unsubscribe link. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with anyone for marketing purposes.
Cookies
This website sets a small number of cookies. Some are strictly necessary for the site to function. Others — such as those set by embedded YouTube videos — are only placed with your consent, which you can give or refuse through the cookie banner. You can review or change your choices at any time via the cookie settings link in the site footer, and full details of each cookie are listed in our cookie policy.
Third-party services
Video. Some pages embed videos hosted on YouTube (a Google service). These are blocked until you consent through the cookie banner. If you consent and play a video, Google may collect data about your viewing in line with Google’s privacy policy.
Email delivery. Our email list is managed through [name of email service, e.g. Mailchimp / MailPoet], which stores subscriber email addresses on our behalf. [If the provider is outside the EU/UK, add: Transfers are protected by standard contractual clauses / the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, as applicable.]
Hosting. The website is hosted with [hosting provider] in [Ireland / the UK], so your data does not routinely leave the European Economic Area or the UK.
How long we keep your information
Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and then deleted. Email list addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. Cookie consent records are kept for as long as required to demonstrate compliance.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct or delete it
- withdraw consent at any time (for example, by unsubscribing from emails)
- object to or restrict our use of your information
- complain to a supervisory authority
To exercise any of these rights, email us at [contact email]. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie) or the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this statement
If we change how the website handles personal information, we will update this page and revise the date at the top.
